Alistair is a Chartered Environmentalist and Fellow of the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals, with more than 28 years of experience spanning scientific research, technical consulting, policy advisory and environmental management.
He has worked extensively with local authorities, housing associations, educational institutions and public agencies, advising on areas including climate adaptation, contaminated land, infrastructure, sustainability governance and corporate strategy. His experience also includes supporting government on environmental and energy policy and its practical application at a local level.
Operating at the intersection of environmental risk, decision-making and liability, Alistair brings a perspective grounded in how these challenges are experienced in practice.
At Crawford, he supports clients in navigating complex environmental risks, strengthening resilience and making informed decisions in an increasingly demanding landscape.
For almost 2 years now, Carl has been responsible for the raising awareness and visibility of Crawford in the Public Sector arena. Previously he worked for Eagle Star/Zurich in a variety of positions, ranging from senior claims inspector to head of claim relationship management. He has an in depth knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced as he was immersed with customers in the sector for in excess of 28 years.
In the corporate sector, Rob has led environmental audits, managed the remediation of complex brownfield sites across the UK and Europe, and directed emergency responses to large-scale pollution incidents. Building on this technical foundation, he transitioned into financial services, underwriting environmental liability policies across diverse industries, including manufacturing, construction, agriculture, renewable energy, retail, petrochemicals and global property portfolios associated with mergers and acquisitions.
As an insurance broker, Rob advised developers, private equity firms and legal professionals, while also supporting industry peers with his specialist knowledge of environmental liability.
At Crawford, Rob supports the growth and expansion of our environmental services into both insurance and noninsurance markets. He also provides strategic technical expertise to a broad range of client accounts in the UK and internationally
