Insurance United Against Dementia
Crawford’s employees are playing a key role in fundraising efforts for Insurance United Against Dementia. The campaign formally launched in February 2017 with the support of the Alzheimer’s Society. Crawford has raised thousands of pounds for Insurance United Against Dementia through a range of charitable events including our Charity Golf Day which saw the great and good of London’s insurance and claims sectors take to the golfing green.
Macmillan Cancer Support
Every year, our employees run, bake, cycle, swim and much more for Macmillan Cancer Support. We are proud to support the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning every year with employees coming together to share their culinary creations with colleagues whilst raising money for Macmillan.
Supporting our Crawford family
Through the Crawford Cares, Inc. foundation, our company provides support to Crawford employees affected by catastrophe or an unexpected event or loss. As an example, Crawford provided financial assistance to more than 100 employees affected by the hurricanes that ravaged the U.S., its territories and the neighbouring Caribbean islands in 2017. Using these funds, employees were able to offset temporary housing costs, repair damaged homes and replace food spoiled by loss of electricity.
Diversity and inclusion
Diversity is a key focus of our culture. Crawford values diversity as it fosters innovation, collaboration and new ideas.
Crawford is a member of the Business Insurance Diversity and Inclusion Institute, an organisation dedicated to promoting and advancing diversity and inclusion in every facet of the commercial insurance industry. Crawford also supports the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters’ Special Interest Group, Women in CILA, which takes positive action to address gender imbalance in CILA qualification progression. Their work includes researching barriers to female progression, providing role models in loss adjusting, creating networking opportunities and encouraging female participation in institute activities.
In 2018, Crawford launched a global high impact leadership exploration and development program to help women successfully achieve their career growth goals and empower them as leaders. Additionally, Crawford provides flexible working arrangements to support working parents and to help its employees maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Gender Pay Report
Transparency is key to the diversity and inclusion strategy at Crawford. We openly share the government’s ambition to see balance at all levels across Crawford and other companies in the financial sector.
Government legislation requires any organisation that has 250 or more employees to publish and report specific numbers about their gender pay gap. The gender pay gap is the difference between the average earnings of men and women. The gender pay gap is different from equal pay which concerns men and women being paid the same pay for the same work or work of equal value. Crawford does not believe that equal pay is an issue in the UK business.

Crawford believes in minimising environmental impact and takes meaningful steps to ensure our processes are efficient and sustainable. We incorporate sustainability criteria into our purchasing policies, from selecting vendors that offer eco-friendly solutions to using fuel-efficient, lower emissions fleet vehicles. We have implemented programs to reduce energy consumption in our data centres and use audio and video conferencing to reduce travel impacts. Every administrative and operational process is carefully reviewed to potentially reduce our carbon footprint.
